Bassenthwaite Sailing Club invites you to join us for our annual regatta week, offering wonderful sailing in a great family environment and in a setting of unrivalled natural beauty. Bass Week is a family regatta that ranks amongst the most popular open events in the North of England.
The Club site offers excellent launching, beaching and limited camping facilities and the well appointed Clubhouse commands views across the Lake. Social functions are arranged each day (for those sailors with spare energy) ranging from a gentle quiz (the competitive spirit continues) to discos and live entertainment etc, including a full programme of events for children.
Racing is organised for Flying Fifteens, GP14s, Lasers, Enterprises, RS200s, Solos, Teras in fleets together with highly competitive and diverse handicaps fleets split into Fast (PN 822-1000), Medium (PN 1001-1125), Slow (PN 1126-1200) and Topper/Mirror handicap. As previously, fleets may be changed at the discretion of the race committee based on numbers of entrants.
Racing is organised daily with short series being held over each weekend and on the Wednesday; other races are stand alone and include two pursuits. Friday afternoon is taken over by junior (under 19), ladies and over 60s racing. We have many highly valued sponsors in place for our full racing programme.
As ever, there will also be on-site caterers providing a range of meals and snacks throughout the day, and not forgetting the fully stocked bar to keep you hydrated!
All in all a hectic week, but you’re able to take part or opt out as you please – If you want to spend a day in Keswick, or mountain biking through the forests so be it, but you are certain to enjoy yourself!
Please note: Dogs are not permitted on site during the regatta.
